Set on the picturesque Cape Clear Island off the coast of West Cork, Cape Clear Island Holiday Centre is a family run collection of businesses that includes self catering cottages, guesthouse, pub and restaurant, and boat for fishing and diving charters.
Cape Clear Island Holiday Centre is run by the O'Driscoll family, whose lineage on the islands extends five generations. They've been running a bed and breakfast since 1988 and are well accustomed to the job of welcoming guests and attending to their various needs. Eat, drink, recreate, relax and enjoy! Cape Clear Cottages are located in the harbour area convenient to the ferries, bureau de change, shops,craft outlets, restaurants and pubs. Built in 1994, each of the Cape Clear Cottages have of three bedrooms - one double en suite room and two twin bedded rooms. The cottages look traditional but boast modern comforts, including: fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher/ washing machine / drier etc; Open Fire and Electric heating; Colour T.V; and full supply of linen and towels. Cape Clear Cottages have been rated as 3* standards by Bord Failte. Major Credit Cards are accepted.
Nearby to the cottages, Cluain Mara is a guesthouse operated by Cape Clear Holiday Centre. It is a dormer bungalow overlooking North Harbour, Cape Clear. Once the family home, Cluain Mara has been run as a guest house since 1988. Guests are certainly made to feel welcome at Cluain Mara. Basic en suite accommodation is provided at a reasonable rate, with Central Heating and sitting room for guests with an open fire.
Ciaran Danny Mikes Pub and Restaurant, built in 1997 and is open all year for food and drink. Ciaran Danny Mikes pours a tasty pint of Murphy's and serves a menu of traditional home cooking that includes: soups, sandwiches, home made bread, and main course platters of steak, salmon, chicken, vegetarian dishes. Ciaran Danny Mikes is also a music venue, hosting various gigs by guest musicians from the mainland, local musicians, and even a resident musician ( Mary the landlady sings and plays guitar!).
