Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian Centre
Idyllically set against a backdrop of the Cooley Mountains, the Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian Centre is an upscale horse riding facilitiy surrounded by an unspoilt hinterland of panoramic vistas, rolling meadows and lush forests.
With its wide-open spaces and breath-taking scenery, Ravensdale Lodge offers a truly magical setting for trekking and leisure pursuits. The centre is close to the scenic Cooley Mountains that sweep down to the Medieval town of Carlingford.
The centre has won two National Enterprise Awards for the service industry. Ravensdale Lodge recently saw the completion of a new indoor arena. This �1.25M development provides state of the art facilities including an area with a specially developed surface similar to that used at the Horse of the Year Show, stabling for 30 horses, tack room, dressing rooms, showers, toilets, baby changing facilities and a coffee shop. All are wheelchair accessible.
The centre has further plans to develop two new outdoor grass arenas and the provision of accommodation.
Trekking is one of the most popular activities offered at the centre and has attracted riders from all over the world. Visitors can go up through the forest, over the mountain and stop off at the Long Woman�s Grave for a gourmet picnic then continue through Glenmore and over the mountain into Carlingford.
