Connemara
Connemara has always been a favourite destination for walkers with its wild and forbidding scenery. The Connemara region is highly mountainous, dominated by over 50 magnificent mountains in four tightly packed mountain ranges, the Twelve Bens, Maum Turks, Partry and Sheffrey. Described as the Alps in Miniature, these rugged mountains with quartzite peaks rise dramatically from the sea and offer the walker all the options needed for that mountain getaway. From the relatively moderate walk up Diamond Hill in the National Park, to the pilgrimage route of St. Patrick that leads you to the pinnacle of Mam Ean, the variety and the views are endless.
If you are interested in hiking in the Connemara region, whether for a day or an entire week, Ireland Adventures can suggest a variety of itineraries to suit your interests and skill levels.
