Giles Norman Photography
Giles Norman is a self tought photographer whose images, displayed in galleries in Kinsale as well as in the Powerscourt Town Centre off Grafton Street in Dublin, powerfully convey the drama and beauty of Irish landscapes.
Giles Norman has been selling work professionally since 1985, when he began selling photographs to craft shops around Ireland. He hung his shingle in Kinsale in 1988 and began drawing in cleints, particularly tourists seeking memorable keepsakes of their journey.
Giles Norman's main body of work is a unique and exceptional collection of black and white landscapes. In recent years Giles Norman has been drawn to what he calls “pure landscape”, finding wild and remote places and photographing only what nature has laid down: keeping manmade intrusions to a minimum.
Giles has also gained a following for his street photography and candid moments that somehow manage to convey a sense of Irishness, without seeming to trite. It helps that much of his work has centered around the hopelessly cute market town of Kinsale.
Giles Norman’s two Galleries display and sell unique images from Ireland’s rugged headland to the wild flora and fauna of our countryside. His work also extends to Paris, Italy and most recently Yosemite National Park in the USA.
