Lisselan Gardens
Set in the valley and the river Argideen outside Clonakilty, Lisselan Gardens was designed in the 1800s and laid out in Robinsonian style, enhancing the natural features and contours provided by the valley and river flowing throughout.
Encompassing 12 acres of gardens and woodlands with a variety of plants, trees, shrubs and flowers that flourish in Lisselan's mild Gulf Stream enhanced climate. Lisselan's spectacular gardens provide visitors with magnificent seasonal colours. Many unusual plants and shrubs not geographically associated with this region can be seen in Lisselan's gardens. A series of flagstone pathways and rustic bridges add ambience and character to the gardens and the sound of the river flowing throughout the gardens leave visitors with a sense of calmness and peacefullness. The rockery, rhododendron garden, water garden, azalea garden, shrubbery and fuchsia garden are some of the features, which can be seen in Lisselan Gardens.
If You Go: Lisselan Gardens are open: Jul and Aug from 08.00-20.00; May / June / Sep from 08.00 - 19.00; Mar / Apr / Oct from 08.00 - 17.00; and Nov - Feb 08.00 - 16.00. Admission is �6.00 for adults and �5.00 for children.
