As one would guess from the numerous portraits that adorne the walls, Cahernane House Hotel draws from a rich heritage. Dating back to the 17th century, Cahernane House is formerly the residence of the Herbert Family, Earls of Pembroke. It is now family-owned and managed by the Browne\'s who\'re on most always on hand to greet guests and ensure they stay is a memorable one.
Cahernane\'s 38 bedrooms, including suites and junior suites, are divided among the old part of the house and new wing. Generally the old rooms have more historic charm, while the new rooms are more contemporary in design. But all rooms are by default beautifully appointed, many with antique furniture, jacuzzis and private balconies. Surrounded by its own parklands and sitting on the edge of Killarney National Park, Cahernane House offers guests breathtaking beauty from each of its bedrooms. It is not uncommon for visitors to spot wildlife, including the fabled deer of Killarney National Park.
The grand and spacious public rooms at Cahernane House-- including reading, drawing and sitting rooms, and a charming rustic Cellar bar -- are a luxurious pleasure , whether taking afternoon tea or sipping after-dinner drinks.
Like other country houses of its caliber, Cahernane prides itself on its culinary offerings. The award-winning Herbert Room Restaurant offers fine wines and delicious food prepared with the best of local produce. The restaurant has been awarded 2 Rosettes and 3 RAC Ribbons.
