Strandhill Golf Club
Located beside the seaside village of Strandhill, approximately 8km from Sligo town, Strandhill Golf Club is a picturesque championship links course that Christy O'Connor has deemed "The hidden jewel of the West." Set alongside Sligo Bay and under the shadows of the Knocknarea mountain, Strandhill provides an inspired setting for a game of golf. Strandhill's 5675 meters of undulating fairways and unforgiving short cuts provides golfers ample challenge, while players will relish the spectacular setting made famous in Song and Story.
Strandhill Golf Club was founded in 1931, but play on the present 18 holes began in 1973. Strandhill offers a fully equipped golf shop with club hire and buggy hire and golf lessons available all year. When rounds are finished, Strandhill Golf Club provides a relaxed and comfortable clubhouse, with restaurant and bar facilities. While Strandhill is somewhat overshadowed as it is by neighboring courses of Rosses Point and Enniscrone, it shouldn't be overlooked, as it provides a delightful addition to the regional mix.
