Emmet Hotel
Set on a Georgian Square in the bustling town of Clonakilty in West Cork, The Emmet Hotel is a charming, traditionally styled three star hotel with 20 guest rooms, a pub and restaurant.
The Emmet is a charming hotel whose smart exterior fits in well among the town homes that surround a stately Georgian square, the only one of its kind outside of Dublin area. Overseen by Marie O'keefe, The Emmet is a cozy, family run establishment that prides itself on its friendly personalized service.
Each of its twenty guest rooms are decorated in a traditional style, with en suite bathroom and all the usual amenities, including: Direct dial telephone and Satellite TV. Rooms looking out over the Square are the most coveted. For younger guests looking for a bit of action, the Emmet also operates a nightclub venue on weekends. Be forewarned if you're a light sleeper that some rooms do pick up the residual din of partying.
West Cork is, of course, renowned for their food and the Emmet makes a fitting attempt to entice its guests to eat locally. For the hungry guests the Emmet serves up two options, its popular Bistro, where a mixture of inexpensive a la carte dishes can be had, or the slightly more formal O'Keefe's fine dining restaurant. If you have the weather for it, there's even newly renovated Beer Garden with Mediterranean style foliage. The Emmet offers room service, available from 8am -10pm.
