Eagles Flying
Situated amid the beautiful rural landscape of Co. Sligo, Eagles Flying is Ireland's largest sanctuary for birds of prey and owls, providing flying demonstrations and maintaining a pet zoo.
Eagles Flying provides daily flying demonstrations, allowing you to experience some of the biggest birds of prey in the world flying closely over your head and landing right beside you. Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Vultures and Owls will demonstrate their unique skills and prey upon prey-dummies in their natural environment.
Experiencing the shear power and grace of seeing this birds of prey up close sears is definitely an experience not to be forgotten. All of these species-- whether its the falcon's with their arrowlike flight or the highly intelligent vultures-- are astonishing to watch. Each possess their own unique way to fly and hunt.
Staff scientists provide insights into the raptors behavior, habitat, the vital role they play in nature, and why they are protected and endangered species.
A visit to Eagles Flying is an excellent day out for all the family. In addition to housing the Irish Raptor Research Centre, Eagle's Flying also operates a Pet Zoo, with goats, lambs, donkeys, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, pot-bellied pigs and many more.
If You Go: Eagle's Flying is open daily from Good Friday to 7th November, 10:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m and 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Flying demonstrations start at 11 a.m. & 3 p.m. daily and last for about 60 minutes. Admission is €5.50 for Children, €8 for students and €9.00 for Adults, while familes (2 adults and 2 children) are €27.
