Roadside Tavern
Just off the main street in Lisdoonvarna on the Doolin Road, the Roadside is a quintessential traditional pub, serving up tasty lunches featuring fish from the Burren Smokehouse and featuring regular sessions of Irish traditional music.
Walking through the doors of the Roadside and you’re welcomed into the fold of this classic Irish pub. Three generations of Curtins have run the Roadside Pub, an institution in this spa town known for its matchmaking festival and traditional Irish music. The Roadside is also a choice venue for mighty trad sessions. During summer months, from Mid June into September, the Roadside features trad music sessions nightly, but during the off season sessions are limited to weekends only.
Given the Roadside’s authentic interior, you might be surprised to discover that the Roadside is also a place for tasty pub grub. This on account of its affiliation with the Burren Smokehouse (also owned and managed Birgitta and Peter Curtin, Lunch menu features a range of tasty smoked treats, like salmon and mackerel, beef produced in the Burren, locally sourced produce, organic whenever possible, and artisan favorites like bailey’s cheesecake.
