Slieve Bloom Walking Festival

The Slieve Bloom Walking festival features a variety of walks through the rich scenic region surrounding the Slieve Bloom mountains. Organized by the Slieve Bloom Walking Club and Slieve Bloom Rural Development Society, the annual walking festival is popular among local people and visitors alike, taking place most Sundays between May to November. Participants are taken on a pleasurable rambles through remarkable landscapes of deep glens, rock outcrops, waterfalls and lofty summits.

For festival features walks along the newly realigned Slieve Bloom Way, a circular trail through rolling hills and deep valleys. Smaller looped walks are now developed also, which allow the day visitors shorter 3-8 hour walks. Walks are led by local guides, who help maximize your enjoyment of the terrain, flora and fauna.
