Mobarnane House

Set among 60 acres of pleasant landscaped gardens, pasture and woodlands in the Golden Vale region of Co. Tipperary, Mobarnane House is a peaceful early 19th century country house with four guest rooms.

In recent years, Mobarnane House has been lovingly restored by proprietors Richard and Sandra Craik-White, who now provide luxurious country house accommodation for discerning visitors. The spacious reception rooms have fine original plasterwork and chimney pieces, and have been stylishly and comfortably furnished.

Richard is a keen and accomplished cook, and his dishes use local ingredients in an imaginative and skilful way, while Sandra has given great attention to the bedrooms, with fresh flowers from the gardens which she also maintains.

Each of Mobarnane House’s four en suite guest rooms are large and spacious, appointed with antique furnishings, fine bed linen and supremely comfortable beds, as well as telephone and television. All the rooms have pleasing views of the grounds, whether onto the gardens or mountains. Two of the rooms also have their own sitting rooms.

One of the great appeals of Mobarnane House is its tranquil setting, surrounded by 60 acres of landscaped gardens, agricultural parkland, and undeveloped woodlands that during the springtime are full of wildflowers. There’s even a 3 acre lake on the grounds of Mobarnane House.

The Tipperary countryside surrounding Mobarnane House provides a beautiful and relaxing country escape. Being in the centre of the country Mobarnane House provides access to a host of attractions. The heritage towns of Clonmel, Cahir and Cashel, with its world renowned Rock of Cashel, are all nearby to Mobarnane House. Also within an hour’s journey is the mediaeval city of Kilkenny, where visitors can follow the Kilkenny Craft Trail and visiting artisan workshops, potteries and glassworks. There’s also a wonderful scenic drives such as over the Knockmealdown Mountains, through The Vee, to Lismore and Cappoquin in County Waterford.
