Tankardstown
Set in lush, magnificent parkland above the valley of the River Boyne in Co. Meath, Tankardstown House is an historic Georgian house providing accommodation in three rooms and 7 beautifully restored cottages in the converted coach house.
The late Georgian cut-stone house has recently been thoroughly restored by Patricia and Brian Conroy and has now been opened to guests in three guest rooms. Inside, there is a fine series of interconnecting reception rooms on the ground floor while upstairs the bedrooms are large and extremely comfortable, with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside and splendid large bathrooms. Tankardstown also offers seven self-catering apartments and a fully equipped conference centre set in a converted coach house.
Whether staying in the main house or in one of the coach house apartments, guests to Tankardstown enjoy premium level of comfort and luxury, with custom-made beds, fresh crisp linen, power showers, plasma screen TVs, and egyptian towels.
Tankardstown is sheltered by a tree-covered hill and surrounded by a walled garden and parkland which is in the midst of restoration with several new plantings. Tankardstown is set overlooking the River Boyne, an area of abundant heritage and history. Nearby are Slane Castle and the Georgian village of Slane, the world famous Neolithic sites at Dowth, Knowth and Newgrange, monastic sites and abbeys at Monasterboice and Melifont along with golf, riding and riverside walks.
