Set on the Sky Road outside Clifden with stunning views of the Atlantic, Dolphin Beach Country House is a beachside house set on 14 acres of wilderness. Dolphin Beach House builds upon the Foyle family's long-standing tradition of fine hospitality, operating their string of hotels in the Connemara region, including Quay House and Rosleague Manor.
Dolphin Beach House takes the bed and breakfast experience to a whole new level. Much more the "dinner and duvet" experience, with zero pretense and pure relaxation. For Dolphin Beach House exudes relaxation. Some guest houses falsely borrow the term "beach house." But the sea remains an ever-present facet of the Dolphin Beach House experience. Imagine guest rooms with doors that open to the sea!
Originally a Connemara homestead dating from the early 19th century, Dolphin Beach has been extensively refurbished. Each of the bedrooms has an exceptional view. All have been finished to exacting standards, with high ceilings, wooden floors, modern bathrooms and under floor heating. The owner, Billy Foyle's interest in woodwork is reflected throughout the house.
Daughters Sinead and Clodagh largely run the show at Dolphin Beach, though parents and siblings are often somewhere in the mix. Their laid back styles add to the houses overall atmosphere of fun and relaxation.
Dining at Dolphin Beach's restaurant is pure joy. Most of the restaurants vegetables and produce are organically grown on the property. With ducks and chickens providing fresh supplies of free-range eggs. It its not sourced locally, organic produce is used wherever possible. Dinners draw from a menu of simple, freshly prepared dishes, with a fabulous representation of seafood, Connemara lamb, and home baking.
