Killeen House Hotel

Set among beautifully mature gardens in Aghadoe just 10 minutes from Killarney town centre and the National Park, Killeen House is a charming 23 room hotel catering to golfers, with fabulous dining, a lively pub, and a warm and friendly welcome.

Built in 1838 in an Edwardian style, Killeen has an atmosphere of a charming country house. Over the years it has served many functions, including farmhouse, rectory, old folks home and maternity ward, before falling naturally into its present incarnation. All told Killeen House has 23 rooms, 8 of them designated as "championship" level, "extra large and very classy" according to the Rosneys. Whether standard or championship level, rooms are traditionally appointed, quite charming and comfortable.

Killeen House Hotel prides itself in its food, offering a nightly dining in Rozzer's, an intimate, award winning restaurant. The menu exquisitely prepared by Head Chef Paul O'Gorman. And Killeen's pub is quite unique. First that it runs as a "DIY (do it yourself) honors bar. Second that its reputedly the only place in the universe that accepts golf balls as legal tender. Balls are exchanged for drinks and adorn the pub's walls as memorabilia from thousands of satisfied guests.

The friendly and good humored owners Geraldine and Michael Rosney, along with their dedicated staff, really make the experience, setting Killeen apart from other hotels. Guests are swept up in the casual, festive atmosphere of the place and become dedicated to the place, with a very high level of repeat visitors.
