Ring of Kerry Golf Club
Founded in 1998, Ring of Kerry Golf and Country Club has established itself as one of the "must play" courses of any golfer visiting Ireland's Southwest. Visitors rave about the courses stunning scenery. With panoramic views of Kenmare Bay, the Beara Peninsula, and the spectacular Kerry mountains, the setting is unsurpassed anywhere in Europe.
Golfers are advised not to be lulled by such scenic splendor. For while Ring of Kerry is classified as a parkland course, its undulating terrain and narrow fairways demand precision. Designed by Irish golf legend Eddie Hackett, his architectural brief was to design a 'world class' golf course that's sufficiently flexible to challenge competent and experienced players from the back teeing areas, yet capable of being played and enjoyed by the average handicap player. The results are just that. In a golf rich region, the Ring of Kerry has risen in prominence and is now included on discerning golf itineraries.
In less than a decade, the Ring of Kerry has already won over a legion of devoted followers, including Brendan McGovern, Captain Irish PGA, who boldly said: "If God restricted me to playing only one course for the rest of my life, it would unquestionably be the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club"
