Across from Birr Castle in the heart of historic Birr, Spinners is set in series of converted townhouses and an original stone woolen mill.
The atmosphere among Spinner's 13 guest rooms is relaxing, stylish and comfortable, with an air of old world charm. Each of the rooms are en suite and spacious adorned with crisp white linen, direct dial telephones, Tea & Coffee Making facilities and televisions. Altogether making a hospitable oasis for the weary traveler.
Rooms form a border around a peaceful and beautiful Mediterranean style courtyard, which during finer weather serves as a spillover seating for Spinners popular contemporary bistro, that occupies the ground floor.
Spinners Bistro is equally atmospheric. The old woolen mill is now the lounge area, with French doors leading out to the courtyard. The restaurant is decorated in subtle earth tones, provides a comfortable and relaxed setting.
Spinners a la carte menu provides impressive choice and variety, featuring a wide selection of Fresh Fish, local meats and produce, with a heavy emphasis on fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients. The food is complemented by a carefully selected, well balanced wine list featuring old and new world wines at affordable prices.
In the Irish hospitality market, Spinners is a rare treat, delivering comfortable accommodation, a tasty upscale Bistro, affordable prices, and friendly service, all in highly atmospheric surroundings.
If You Go: Spinners is open year-round. The Bistro is closed Tuesday. Dinners are served 6:30 - 9:00 PM, with extended hours till 10 PM on Fri and Sat. Spinners is also open for Sunday Lunch from 12.30pm – 2.30pm.
