Ribbing it on the River Shannon

The Shannon River estuary is a place of splendid beauty and ecosystem for a rich array of bird and sea life. And intrepid travelers now have a chance to experience this natural area up close.

Shannon Estuary RIB Tours has announced it will commence operations during the Spring of 2008, offering daily excursions on a ribbed speed boat. They offer licensed boat trips on the River to explore the surroundings of its rich birdlife and sealife. Visitors experience the thrill of powerboating on a rigid inflatable boat. Guests will take in historical sites including Beeves Rock Lighthouse, Foynes Island and Scattery Island. The RIB tours will also appal to those who wish to experience the thrill and adventure of power boating on the River Shannon.

Shannon Estuary RIB Tours is run by Clark Clifford and based in Foynes, Co Limerick. Guests will avail of a number of different departure points, including Tarbert, Foynes and Limerick City. Each trip can accommodate eight passengers. Shannon Estuary RIB Tours is fully licenced by the Department of Transportation.
