Gougane Barra Hotel is an enchanted three star hote set in the most sublime mountain valley in West Cork. It is the perfect destination for recreation and relaxation, fine dining in a friendly relaxed setting. And for three summers running Gougane Barra has also been a place to catch world-class theatre. A marquis is erected in the back garden, making for the most intimate and enchanting of settings to take in a play. And this is no second rate performance. But the Lucey's through their great enthusiasm, have finagled top theatre companies to put on separate performance.
This years features include the highly popular "Tom Crean : Antarctic Explorer," a one man production featuring dramatic and humourous performances by Aidan Dooley as famed the Kerry explorer that runs 15 July to the 3 Aug. And back by popular demand is the New Theatre Company production of The Tailor and Antsy, a locally based screen play makes its homecoming to the valley in which the main characters are buried, running from 12-31 Aug.
This package includes two nights accommodation at the three star Gougane Barra Hotel, two breakfasts, one dinner and theatre tickets, with a full day to relax and explore the local countryside whether by foot, boat, or bike. Tour Includes:
This package is based on two people sharing either a twin or double room.
Two nights accommodation in a double or twin room; two breakfasts; one three course dinner (from fixed menu) the Gougane Barra Restaurant; and one dinner. Recreational activites are available on site, including walking, row boating, angling, cycling. Bikes are available on premises for a small rental fee.
Payment Methods:
Ireland Adventures accepts credit card payments by Mastercard or Visa, or by arrangement checks and bank transfers can also be accepted.
Deposits:
Ireland Adventures requires 30 percent deposit up front to secure a reservation, with balance due at least 21 days prior to departure. If a reservations made within 21 days of travel, then the entire payment is required to secure the booking.
Cancellations:
Guest who for whatever reason must cancel their planned travels, must provide written notice to Ireland Adventures. If provided within 21 days of travel, guests will be refunded 50 percent of their deposit. Between 20 and 7 days, guests will forfeit their deposit. Within 7 days days of travel, guests forfeit the entire amount, subject to the discretion of Ireland Adventures. We will make every effort to provide alternative arrangements, taking into account any penalties incurred.
Cancellations due to Weather:
In Ireland, Outdoor activities are often influenced by inclement weather. Some activities such as golf tee times, happen rain or shine. Unless the activity provider deems the conditions to be unsuitable or unsafe, guests must assume the activity will proceed as planned. Guests should not expect a refund on account of weather they deem unsuitable. Such determinations must be made by the activity provider. If the guest feels the conditions are unpleasant and wish to cancel, alternative arrangements must be made the activity provider or Ireland Adventures staff. Often but certainly not always, activity providers are sympathetic. Refunds will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Itinerary:
Itineraries should be viewed as best intentions, which are occasionally must be altered due to changing conditions on the ground, extreme weather, or unexpected closures. If the agreed upon service cannot be provided, Ireland Adventures reserves the right to substitute a comparable service. In such situations Ireland Adventures will notify guests immediately to inform them of any change in plans.
Responsibility:
Ireland Adventures assumes the responsibilities of a ground agent, coordinating various services. We work exclusively with suppliers who are bonded, insured, and certified by the appropriate governing bodies. We are not responsible for any personal injury, property damage or other loss a passenger incurs on our tours arising from acts or omissions by these service providers, including public transport company, hotel, car rental company, and activity providers.
Ireland Adventures cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising to anyone participating in an activity holiday. Sporting activities, by their nature, may be hazardous and involve an element of risk. Guests are strongly recommended to take out personal accident insurance, as well as travel insurance as an added protection.
Complaints.
We welcome any feedback, positive or otherwise, as we use this information to improve our service to you and all our customers. If guest(s) has any complaints regarding any problems or failures of service, they may petition for a partial or full refund. Ireland Adventures will seek a remedy as best as it can, on behalf of the guest. Complaints should be made in a timely fashion to service provider or Ireland Adventures staff to ensure an immediate and satisfactory resolution. Complaints after the tour has completed should be made within 14 days of the return date. Ireland Adventure policy is to review complaints in a positive and courteous manner and to endeavor to resolve the situation as best we can.
